Collage Ukraine allgemeinHigh risk help

The war in Eastern Ukraine has been raging since April 2014. More than 10,000 people lost their lives already and between 1.5 and 2 million people had to flee.

When the war started, one of the first tasks was the evacuation of people from the war zone and accommodation in safe regions. Some of the Ukrainian helpers were killed while helping.

Winter – an additional enemy
As a result of the fighting, life supporting infrastructure in many cities and villages has been destroyed. This had led to a collapse of water, gas, electricity and heating supplies. Once the winter starts, a further deadly danger looms: the white death. Hundreds of people have already died of hunger and cold.

Aid marathon
Since the beginning of the war, AVC supports the aid efforts of their partners in Ukraine. The network of voluntary helpers provides humanitarian help such as medical care, soup kitchens, aid transports etc. and is involved in spiritual help.
