marokko2 slHarder times for Christians

Since 2010 the conditions for Christians in the Kingdom of Morocco are getting worse. A home church movement was annihilated by the authorities, foreign missionaries were expelled and meetings of over 20 people have been forbidden.

Moroccan Muslims who turn to Christianity are being criminalized by the police. The Koran strongly condemns apostasy from Islam. To turn someone from Islam is worse than murdering someone. In addition to this comes the rejection by friends and family. It is compulsory to give children Islamic first names – also for Christians and Berbers.

AVC has been active in Morocco since 2002. It started with a Kindergarten in Marrakesh which is still open. Today we are running a training centre for women, we support evangelism and church planting, train leaders and develop discipleship material.
